Show: Laguna

...There is enough style among them to make it work, however, Director/Choreographer, William F. Lett gets much of the credit, delivering some nice creative touches, such as when the two lovers embrace as figurines on a music box or the unfortunates at the foundry who form an automated human assembly line.

Overall, the dancing is spirited, if not exhilarating, with the focus on high jinx rather than virtuosity. The highlight of the hoofing is 'Mahrouns,' in which a host of gyrating, scantily clothed Amazons try to distract some drag-clad new arrivals to Laguna to a tune resembling the 60's hit 'Ally Oop.'

The Jargon of finance and computers might pour from the mouths of the characters in this show with the speed of a white-collar wrap master, but Laguna is as light-and-tickling as a feather.
