The cast members Susan Cherin, Adriane Gabrielle, William F. Lett, Lloyd Pedersen and Linda Marie Lang took turns giving easy to understand presentations on the history of musicals and the material being sung

Conducting a few question-and-answer sessions was another way to keep the young listeners - most appeared to be 5 to 10 years old - involved

When telling the children how live theatre differs from the movies Lett stepped off the stage and said the performers they were watching could hear their applause. From that point on, the performers had the youngsters on their side

At its best, live entertainment for children gives musical literacy to a generation that someday will be entrusted with preserving the best music of the past. Broadway Babies took that mission to heart with a dynamic and musically bound performance.
